“Queer Theater for Diversity”

WHEN:

WHERE:

The Fort and Live on The Fort’s Facebook Page

The Performing Arts Festival for Diversity by H0M0HAUS is an inaugural two-week-long event taking place at different venues throughout Bangkok in June to celebrate Pride Month. The festival presents a series of theater performances directed and performed by LGBTI+ artists, panel discussions, and workshops to express and explore diverse LGBTI+ stories in Thailand and challenge gender stereotypes and patriarchal elements in the Thai society and its art scene. The festival also aims to create a platform for LGBTI+ artists to discuss challenges facing their work and establish a vibrant community of queer theater makers and enthusiasts.

On June 2, The Fort will host an in-person event organized by H0M0HAUS featuring two panel discussions. The first panel discussion will include Thai queer theater artists of different generations, who will discuss their work to promote diversity in Thailand. The second panel discussion will include directors of prominent Thai performing arts festivals, who will discuss gender-related issues in the country’s arts scene. The event will also include an exhibition showcasing the history of queer performing arts in Thailand.

This event is open to the public and free of charge with Thai and English interpretation. The event will also be live-streamed in Thai and English languages on The Fort’s Facebook Page.
