Protection of Sex Workers’ Rights and Access to Welfare
On October 7, 2023, The Fort hosted an in-person panel discussion organized by the Move Forward Party to discuss the Protection of Sex Workers’ Rights and Welfare.
Sex work is criminalized and highly stigmatized by the public in Thailand. As a result, sex workers face heightened risks of abuse, exploitation, and denial of basic rights. This event will explore the challenges faced by sex workers in Thailand, potential legal pathways to protection, and drivers to shift public attitudes on sex work.
Panelists included a Thai sex worker and activist, a representative from the Thai entertainment industry, and Bangkok-based Members of Parliament from the Move Forward Party.

ในวันเสาร์ที่ 7 ตุลาคม 2566 พรรคก้าวไกลได้จัดงานเสวนาว่าด้วยแนวทางคุ้มครองสิทธิและสวัสดิภาพต่อผู้ให้บริการทางเพศ ที่เดอะฟอร์ท สุขุมวิท 51
อาชีพให้บริการทางเพศ หรือ Sex Work ยังคงเป็นความผิดทางอาญา และได้รับการตีตราอย่างหนักจากสังคมไทย ด้วยเหตุผลดังกล่าว ผู้ให้บริการทางเพศจึงเสี่ยงต่อการถูกละเมิด ถูกเอารัดเอาเปรียบ และไม่สามารถเข้าถึงสิทธิขั้นพื้นฐานได้ งานเสวนาครั้งนี้ชวนถกถึงความยากลำบากที่ผู้ให้บริการทางเพศต้องประสบ แนวทางที่จะทำให้พวกเขาได้รับการคุ้มครองทางกฎหมาย และวิธีที่จะช่วยเปลี่ยนทัศนคติของสังคมต่องานให้บริการทางเพศ
