Queer Theater for Diversity

On June 2, The Fort hosted an in-person event organized by H0M0HAUS featuring two panel discussions. The first panel discussion  included Thai queer theater artists of different generations, who will discuss their work to promote diversity in Thailand. The second panel discussion included directors of prominent Thai performing arts festivals, who discussed gender-related issues in the country’s arts scene. The event also included an exhibition showcasing the history of queer performing arts in Thailand.

Panel Discussion 1: Queer Artists in Thailand

Speakers included:

  • Wannasak Sirilar, Performer, director, and recipient of Thailand’s prestigious 2020 Silpathorn Award

  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Sun Tawalwongsri, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University and founder of Bangkok Queer Theatre Festival 2014

  • Pathavee Thepkraiwan (AmadiVa), Contestant of Drag Race Thailand Season 1 and co-founder of H0M0HAUS

  • Siraphop Attohi, Thailand’s pro-democracy queer activist and co-founder of H0M0HAUS

  • Pathipon Adsavamahapong, Founder of Miss Theatre and co-founder of H0M0HAUS

Panel Discussion 2: QUEER in the FEST

  • Adjjima Na Patalung, Director of the Bangkok International Children's Theatre Festival

  • Siree Riewpaiboon, Assistant Artistic Director of Bangkok International Performing Arts Meeting

  • Nontawat Machai, Co-founder of Lanyim Theatre and producer of the Chiang Mai Performing Arts Festival
