The Fort Talks: Marriage Equality and Parenthood
On February 12, 2024, members of the Thai parliamentary committee tasked with scrutinizing the marriage equality bill came together with LGBTI+ parents and activists to discuss the current draft of the bill. Panelists also discussed what provisions are needed to ensure LGBTI+ parents and children have the same rights as other parents and children in Thailand.
The event started with a screening of Valentine's Day: Thai LGBTI+ Couples Campaign for the Marriage Equality Bill, a short film by human rights group Fortify Rights, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.

ในวันจันทร์ที่ 12 กุมภาพันธ์ 2567 เดอะฟอร์ทตั้งวงสนทนากับกรรมาธิการพิจารณาร่างสมรสเท่าเทียม คู่รักบุพการีเพศหลากหลาย และนักกิจกรรมที่ขับเคลื่อนประเด็นดังกล่าว เพื่อพูดคุยเกี่ยวกับสิทธิของบุพการีในร่างกฎหมาย และชวนขบคิดกับตัวบทในรายมาตรา ที่จะประกันสิทธิให้กับครอบครัวคู่รักเพศหลากหลายที่มีบุตร เพื่อให้เกิดความเท่าเทียมเช่นเดียวกับครอบครัวอื่นในปัจจุบัน
งานเสวนาเริ่มต้นด้วยวิดีโอขนาดสั้น ชื่อหัวข้อ “วาเลนไทน์: คู่รัก LGBTI+ เรียกร้องรัฐบาลผ่านกฎหมายสมรสเท่าเทียม” ซึ่งจัดทำโดยองค์กรสิทธิมนุษยชนฟอร์ติฟายไรต์ (Fortify Rights) ตามมาด้วยวงเสวนา และช่วงถามตอบโดยลำดับ
