The film “Journey of Love” follows the inspiring stories of five Rohingya women refugees in the heart of Aceh, Indonesia. Forced to flee Myanmar due to persecution, they find themselves in Aceh, seeking solace and belonging. Through shared experiences and advocacy, they form deep bonds while confronting past traumas and embracing hope. Despite hurdles, like displacement and refugee lived experience, they draw strength from each other, uplifting their community through education and empowerment. Their journey showcases the transformative power of sisterhood and love in overcoming adversity inspiring compassion and empathy in viewers.
 
On May 25, 2024, The Fort will host a film screening and panel discussion organized by the Rohingya Maìyafuìnor Collaborative Network (RMCN)–a Rohingya-led, women-led, and refugee-led organization. This screening will be the Thailand premiere of “Journey of Love,” a film produced by Alternative ASEAN Network for Burma in collaboration with the RMCN. The event will also include a panel discussion with one of the film’s producers and two Rohingya women featured in the film.
 
This event is open to the public and free of charge. The event will also be live-streamed on The Fort’s Facebook Page.
