On August 8, 2024,—the anniversary of Myanmar’s “8888” uprising—The Fort hosted the Meet the Changemakers event, featuring Dr. Sann Aung, a pro-democracy activist from Myanmar and Executive Director of the New Myanmar Foundation, which supports refugees in Mae Sot, Thailand.

This event was moderated by Fortify Rights Human Rights Associate Thanida Piyachot.

The Fort’s “Meet the Changemakers” events provide an opportunity to engage with and learn about the activities and initiatives of individuals, organizations, and coalitions dedicated to creating positive, rights-based change in Asia.
